Independent contractor
Michael is a qualified heavy plant diesel mechanic who was
offered the opportunity to work as a contractor in the remote areas of north
west Western Australia.
For
Michael we
incorporated a Pty Ltd company with a name of his
choosing, obtained a tax file number and ABN for the company and registered the
company for GST.
We
then created a simple information transfer system that would enable Michael to
forward his financial details to NetΞquity
to enable us to prepare and lodge his quarterly BAS and annual
income tax return.
Complex
business management
The
clients
are the owners of a liquor store, hotel, TAB, news agency, shopping arcade and
various small businesses in a major Western Australian mining town. The separate
businesses and associated assets are held by a number of different
entities comprising companies, trusts and partnerships.
Because
of the substantial cash nature of the various businesses, NetΞquity
has established a cash control system and
undertakes the preparation and lodgment of quarterly BASs for all the
entities.
To
enable the annual preparation of financial accounts and taxation
returns from the clients MYOB bookkeeping system, we assisted the client with the installation of a computer network and linked touch
screen till system to track the movement of all cash and stock movements between
the various trading entities that are at different locations within the town.
Business
migrants
Mr
D & Mrs D, both being qualified professionals, were new arrivals to Australia
who were
looking to purchase a particular type of established business and suitable premises in
the Perth metro area.
NetΞquity
wrote on a confidential basis to a number of established business that met the
clients criteria expressing interest to purchase on behalf of the clients.
Following a due diligence
process undertaken by
NetΞquity,
a successful transaction occurred. We then established the following entities for the business operation including
applications for required Tax File Numbers, ABNs and GST registration:
 |
two
non incorporated trading entities. |
 |
a
trustee Pty Ltd company. |
 |
a
discretionary trust that purchased the business premises and shared
equipment. |
 |

NetΞquity
then installed the individual businesses internal
bookkeeping systems using Cashflow Manager which included the training of
personnel.

resident.
